Band 6 (RMN) – Deputy Ward Manager


Salary £26,565- £35,577 pa plus £2000 DSN responsibility allowance and enhancements for unsocial hours.

Base -Prospect Park Hospital- Please note we have a Deputy Ward Manager post on the following wards:

Rowan - Older Adults

Rose - Adult Acute

Daisy - Adult Acute

Are you keen to develop your leadership skills within a supportive, committed and well led multi-disciplinary team in a fast paced mental health in-patient setting?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy adult acute ward as Deputy Ward manager. You will be joining a skilled and welcoming multi-disciplinary team who collaboratively work towards attainment of excellent care for our service users and will be supported by a ward manager and two psychiatric consultants together with two other deputy ward managers and a clinical development lead nurse

This is an excellent opportunity to build upon your established clinical and interpersonal skills, acting as a role model for all staff through provision of high standards of professional practice and making a meaningful contribution to the development of our services as a centre of excellence and to the care of our patients. You will also be supported gain invaluable experience and grow in confidence as part in our duty senior nurse rota, taking lead on site responsibility for the hospital out of hours.

We operate 24 hours services, 7 days a week all years round and run a rotational rota with the option for long days working. Prospect Park Hospital in Reading, rated as ‘Good’ in all categories by the CQC, provides high standards of care for people in the crisis phase of their mental illness
