The Integrated Pain and Spinal Service (IPASS) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative full time (37.5hours per week) Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist for a fixed term 12 months maternity cover. 

The post holder will provide high quality care to people who have been experiencing pain for more than three months.   IPASS facilitate stepped care between GPs and secondary care, with the aim of providing quicker access to specialist physiotherapy and psychology input therefore preventing chronicity from developing.  The post will cover the West of Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and will there include travel between sites.

The role will involve conducting detailed assessment, formulation, individual and group therapeutic interventions and team consultation/case discussion, covering mostly functional problems associated with persistent pain.

You will be working collaboratively with members of a multi-disciplinary team, including Psychologists, Physiotherapists and a Pain Consultant, where psychology is seen as a valuable resource and where you will have the opportunity to develop the role of psychology within the service.

You will be well supported within the BHFT Clinical Health Psychology Service (CHPS) team, where CPD and staff support are highly valued.

Any job offer will be dependent on successful completion of the Clinical Psychology Training Course and HCPC registration.
