Nursery Nurse

What’s special about this opportunity?

Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust can provide you with a dynamic, people-centred environment, where you will be empowered to give the next generation the very best start in life.

Located in the grounds of Upton Hospital in Slough, Jack in the Box offers a variety of learning opportunities to support child development and growth. The nursery is a purpose built, single story building, with three spacious outdoor areas where children can explore and play. Jack in the Box has its own on-site kitchen and chef that provides fresh, nutritious meals to keep the children fit and healthy.

With a maximum of 78 children attending at any one time, and cared within different rooms according to age, the nursery received a five-star rating at its latest environmental health inspection and a ‘Good’ rating in its most recent Ofsted report (October 2018).

A fun, creative and inspirational place to work, we receive excellent testimonials from parents, one of whom reviewed us saying: I have felt confident from the start that the staff are experienced, well trained and very caring. The nursery is excellent at communicating with me and also offers the flexibility I have needed in order to work.

Working in a passionate team, you will have access to our Trust-wide Learning and Development programme and be supported in your career and personal growth with opportunities to help you to build your Continuing Professional Development portfolio, extend your skills and ensure that you excel.

About you:

You will be an enthusiastic and experienced nursery nurse with an NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification. With exceptional communication and people skills, and a great sense of fun, you will be an inspirational member of our team, striving to be your very best and supporting colleagues in the delivery of compassionate, safe and structured care. You will be pleased to share your knowledge when mentoring more junior team members and keen to build healthy, collaborative and communicative relationships with parents.  Most importantly, you will respect that each child is an individual and use your creative skills to develop a lively, enjoyable and nurturing environment in which they can grow.

What’s next?

If you share our passion for people and the dedication to excel, we’d love to hear from you.
