Community Therapy Technician

This post will be working mainly with the Community Physiotherapy Team, which is part of Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) Services in East Berkshire, and will input into other Therapy services in Slough as required. The community and clinic teams working together, provide a valuable service with patients at the centre, to help maintain independence and well-being in patients’ own homes and communities, avoiding admission to the Acute Hospital.  The ARC Service team provides Medical, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Nursing support and intervention to older patients with complex needs.  We give patients time and attention working to consider all aspects of their mental, physical and social health.

The Therapy Team provides assessment and management for complex patients either in their own homes, in a clinic environment, or on the in-patient ward, with the aim of maximising independence and keeping people active in their own homes and communities. This post will suit a dynamic person who enjoys working as part of a strong Multidisciplinary Team.  The suitable candidate will be motivated, organised and have initiative to work independently, undertaking patient care, assessment and intervention independently with mentoring from the senior therapists, and organising the administration for the team.

The post will be based at Upton Hospital in Slough.  There is free parking on site.

Please contact Jenny Plummer or Catherine Bray on 01753 635354 if more information is required
