An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the adult (18-64) and older adult (65+) East Berkshire Psychological Medicine Service based at Wexham Park Hospital (Band 7, 22.5 hours, fixed term post until January 2020 to cover maternity leave).

The successful candidate will be joining a developing and expanding team supporting the mental health needs of adults and older adults with long-term physical health and neurological conditions across the acute hospital. There will be opportunities to establish close working relationships with specialist departments including diabetes, heart failure, oncology, stroke, and maternity.

The post would be best suited to a clinical psychologist with a keen interest in physical health, neurological and neuro-degenerative conditions. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic individual with a strong interest in service development, who has a passion to support patients with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

The clinical work will be varied and there are ample opportunities for the development of knowledge and skills. The post holder will have the opportunity to carry out and deliver a wide range of assessments and interventions, develop supervisory and consultation skills, and engage in teaching and training.

The post holder will receive support and supervision from the Lead Clinical Psychologist and will work within a supportive team environment. Newly qualified clinical psychologists are welcome to apply.
